Ophthalmology
Advancing eye care and other solutions targeting the ocular surface to treat ophthalmic conditions
Ophthalmic health: a growing global challenge
Dry eye disease, often described as a “civilisation disease,” affects millions of people worldwide and can have a significant impact on daily life.1-3 Symptoms such as irritation, discomfort, and blurred vision can make even simple tasks challenging, affecting confidence, focus, and overall well-being.1-3 At TRB, we recognise the growing need for effective, well-tolerated treatments that help restore comfort and protect ocular health.
Expertise in ophthalmic surgery
Building on our expertise in sodium hyaluronate, we have also developed solutions to support surgeons during ophthalmic procedures. Ophtalmic viscosurgical devices are formulated to help protect delicate ocular tissues and maintain optimal conditions throughout surgery, contributing to precise outcomes.7,8
This work reflects our commitment to providing reliable, high-quality products.
Expertise in ocular surface health
For more than two decades, TRB has focused on supporting patients living with dry eye disease through the VISMED® range of lubricant eye drops.4-6 Based on sodium hyaluronate technology, these formulations are designed to hydrate, protect, and stabilise the ocular surface, helping to relieve symptoms associated with tear film instability. Our experience in ocular surface therapy reflects a long-standing dedication to developing treatments that combine scientific rigour with patient comfort – the result of ongoing research into the mechanisms of dry eye disease.
Looking ahead: shaping the future of eye health
Eye health continues to face growing challenges, from lifestyle and environmental factors to an ageing population.9 TRB remains dedicated to advancing ophthalmic science through continuous research and innovation, expanding treatment possibilities for patients.
